Reading about xhtml

w3c’s xhtml 1.0 document.

Section 4.11 uses a standard I really enjoy, and call “the lower-case standard”. Everything is lower-case, so you don’t have to worry about case sensitivity.

Helios

Helios. We’re using their free internet for the first time. They used to charge $10/month, but personally I believe that this is a better business model: people come in, and they stay longer, so your coffee sales go up. The internet access is the reason we’re here rather than at another coffee place.

The owner couldn’t believe that we didn’t know about their site and weren’t on their email list. (We come in every other day.)

We’ve already listened to them play whole albums by Cake and Beck. Yay, espresso!

The results are interesting. They’d be much more interesting if we had a GPS hooked up to add coordinates to the result. Informally, I can say that most of the hubs are residential ones. Notice how many are anonymous: that is, how many do not have WEP enabled.

Finished the Order of the Phoenix

Over the course of just three or four days (of staying up ’til all hours) I finished Rowling’s Harry Potter: the Order of the Phoenix.

I wouldn’t say it was my favorite, and it certainly is a little gruesome at points, but it was definitely worth reading.
