I Know Very Well

Man, this rock stuff isn’t so bad after all!

Although my roommates are mapping out how we can put together some kind of ridiculous drum/bass/guitar cover, I’ve just checked out how to play I Know Very Well How I Got My Name, a neat and not-too-famous song by Morrissey and his crew. This one only requires like 5 chords total.

I’ve also started using Aquagnome to work on my rhythm. (It’s a metronome.)

“Senior Java Developer”

So, I’m looking through North Carolina’s Office of State Personnel list of technical jobs, and find one in Wake county for a “Senior Java Developer.” Only catch is, they want you to have graduated from a four year college and have EIGHT years of experience:

GRADUATION FROM A FOUR YEAR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY WITH A MAJOR IN COURT
ADMINISTRATION, COMPUTER SCIENCE, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, CRIMINAL
JUSTICE, AND EIGHT YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE;

How long has Java been around, anyways? Wouldn’t they want you to have started using it in 1995?

Zinged!

It looks like Kerry is doing a good job of covering for his anti-peace position w/ respect to Iraq. Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire reports that he’s blaming his position on the President’s handling of the “evidence” for war.

“Uplink”, a desktop hacking game

I spent a few minutes playing the demo version of uplink. I played this game a year or so ago on a Windows machine, but now they have a Mac version, so I wanted to check it out. The game is sort of fun, but they cut you off really early in the demo so you can’t have much fun.

You start off with a “gateway” system and a “password breaker 1.0″ program. Eventually (in the full version), you can get a system that fudges voice patterns and optimizes your hard drive, the works…
