Plone looks pretty neat. I used Zope for an NCSU project once. Plone is Zope with some extra features. They even have an OS X installer!

Verisign

WHAAAAAT???

“To make wiretapping possible, Internet phone companies have to buy equipment and software as well as hire technicians, or contract with VeriSign or one of its competitors. The costs could run into the millions of dollars, depending on the size of the Internet phone company and the number of government requests.”

Verisign runs .com: it can set up MITM attacks. Verisign signs signatures: it can spoof signatures.

iTunes purchases

Filed under: Entertainment — John @ 11:11 pm

In the spirit of Rob’s iTunes Blog, I feel compelled to document my inaugural iTunes purchase.

  • Modest Mouse: Sad Sappy Sucker
  • Björk: Medúlla
  • Stone Temple Pilots: Shangri-LA DEE DA
  • Stereolab: Margerine Eclipse

What can I say… I like to buy albums. The next step is to branch out and find new artists.

A while ago I actually bought G Love and Special Sauce’s self-titled album from iTunes, but that’s just because I’d lost my hard copy. So that shouldn’t count as my first purchase.
