zettai.net DRIVES ME CRAZY

Filed under: Technology — John @ 10:56 pm

Zettai.net hosts my church’s web site. They do Plone hosting, and a good job of it too.

HOWEVER, they absolutely refuse to set up Mailman listserves for you. You can either use this weird dog listserv program that is ridiculously complex for a mailing program, or follow these simple-to-use directions for how to install Mailman from source and configure getmail and qmail to check a millon email accounts.

ANYWAYS, I was fine with their system of having you create 20 email accounts for each listserv you want to create, and having a script check each account every 5 minutes, but I found out when we re-upped that they only allow you to have a total of 100 email accounts now. So I can only have like 5-6 lists.

Well I have written Yet Another Program to try to make mailman work with their system. This program uses getmail, the “multi-drop” function, and the “delivered-to” header so that you only need two accounts per list: one for the list itself and a second for all the mailman aliases like mailman-owner.

I created a little bit of ASCII art, perhaps one of the most awesome mediums ever created. That and gold foil.

My Poetry Wiki

I have created my own poetry wiki. It’s based on Mediawiki. I’m trying to catalog more thoroughly my poetry knowledge and to understand what I need to learn more.

I want some web bling.

Links found from the Daily Sucker. And I did find another person who says “web bling”.

hooked on a feeling

Filed under: Entertainment — John @ 1:23 pm

I am still hooked on the feeling I get when I watch the David Hasselhoff crazy video. I’m watching it again right now.
