Sit Privacy Page
Effective 2026-09-14.
Sit is a meditation bell timer. It keeps a plain-text log of your sits on your phone and shows a streak. That is all it does with your data.
What Sit stores
- A log of your sits (date, time, and minutes) in a text file in the app's Documents folder, which you can read and edit in the Files app.
- Your settings (goal, day start, reminder time, and the like).
Everything stays on your device and in your own iCloud device backup if you have that turned on. Sit has no server, no account, no analytics, and no advertising. It never sends anything anywhere.
Health
If you turn on "Save to Health as Mindful Minutes", each sit is written to the Health app as a Mindful Minutes session. Sit only writes; it never reads Health data. Turn the setting off at any time; sits already saved stay in Health until you delete them there.
Notifications and alarms
With your permission Sit schedules a daily reminder and a backstop alarm that rings the end bell if the app is closed mid-sit. Both are handled entirely on the device.
Deleting your data
Delete the app, or delete the log file in the Files app. Sit keeps no copy.
